Objectives

Rotaforte’s business processes merged under the umbrella of Infor10 Financials Business (SunSystems).

Mergers/Acquisitions have become a popular strategic choice for companies’ growth and expansion. Several major consulting, advisory services firms and academics have reported that about 60–80% of all mergers are financial failures when measured in terms of their ability to deliver profit increases or wealth gains. The main reason of the failure is lack of effective and successful integration of the two companies. There are several dimensions for an effective and successful integration of two companies. Financial Management and Accounting integration is regarded as one of most important dimension since it’s a formal source of information for all aspects of business planning and control.

Therefore, the actions that are taken to manage the task involved in Financial Management and Accounting implementation are key to successful performance. Infor10 Financial Business (SunSystems) enables Rotaforte to achive the below mentioned business goals;

Implementation and Planing

KOMTAŞ Information Management used PIM (Project Implementation Methodology) to implement Infor10 Financial Solution (SunSystems) project at Rotaforte. PIM has three sequential stages with a number of sub-stages and activities in connection with implementation.

1. Implementation Planning Study stage is designed to make a detailed survey at acquired site, deliver project team training and detailed scoping of work performed under implementation stage and defines resource requirements.

2. Implementation stage aims to perform implementation of Infor10 Financial Business (SunSystems) accounting system in accordance with mutual agreed scope.

3. Post Implementation stage is designed to learn from and rectify problems arising out of implementation

Business mapping is done through meetings with project team, and a system design document is prepared to detail the needs of Rotaforte. Sales types, items, detailed calculation of sales figures, documents, integration with accounting are all defined in this design document.

KOMTAŞ Information Management’s consultants has developed a test system according to system design document. After a user testing data migration is done with the help of project team. During the live stage continuous maintenance of the implemented system is done through support desk and with remote webex sessions.

Results

— To centralize sales, purchase and finance data increases the quality of the data and the decisions based on this data used.

— Maintain price lists within system according to different sales types, currency; this allows to use the same price list for all the sales, and controls the sales activity.

— All financial transactions are now being reported instantly in accordance with the Turkish and foreign country account plans by means of account analysis codes.

— To group and maintain item codes for all products purchased and sold; in the past different Excel sheets were maintained for sales and purchase activities. There was not common coding that allows to track the profitability of the sales.

— Management reports created with Vision allows Rotaforte to drill down to transaction level of analysis.

— Maintaining local accounting and group accounting with the same data entry was possible; group chart of accounts was mapped to local chart of accounts that allows to prepare reports easily for local and group requirements

— All the P&L activity could be registered according to Fair code. Sales analysis could be done according to Fair, Customer Segment, Sales Types and by item.

— Controls to access the system according to user groups and apply business rules for data entry.
